Arriving by road
The A 2 and A 7 cross at Kreuz Hanover-Ost on the northeastern edge of the city, and the A 352 links them past the airport. Together with those motorways, Bundesstraße expressways form a loose ring: Westschnellweg, Messeschnellweg by the fairground and Südschnellweg. Between the Central Station and Kröpcke the core is a large pedestrian zone closed to cars.
From the airport without a car
From Hannover Airport, S-Bahn line S5 goes to the Hauptbahnhof and then carries on towards Hamelin or Paderborn. The airport lies beyond fare Zone 1, so the ride into the centre needs a 2-zone ticket.
