Driving in Porto
Porto is reached by A20 (Via de Cintura Interna) and Circunvalação. Parking in the centre is paid and marked by zone. Streets in the old centre are narrow, a smaller car is easier.

Arriving by road
Five highways feed the city: the A1 from Lisbon, the A29 from Aveiro, the A3 from Braga, the A28 from Viana do Castelo and the A4 from the east. The A41 forms an outer ring, and the A20, A28, A29 and A41 are free of toll. Traffic is chaotic and heavy at rush hour.
From the airport without a car
Porto Metro line E, the purple one, runs from the airport into the city centre, and every metro line meets at Trindade station. STCP buses 601, 602 and 604 also serve the airport, while a night bus also runs to Av. Aliados.
