Antalya by car
Antalya lives off tourism, wedged between the Taurus wall and warm Mediterranean water, with a walled Ottoman quarter at its heart and resorts spreading either way. High season thickens traffic considerably on the seafront approaches.
Driving in Antalya
Antalya is reached by E87 and D650. Parking in the centre is paid and marked by zone. Streets in the old centre are narrow, a smaller car is easier.
Arriving by road
D400 meets D650 inside the city, and D685 is the alternative branch of D650 leading to Isparta. Provincial road 07-50 offers an alternative to D400 toward Kumluca, passing Altınyaka. The centre is walkable, and driving there is tiresome.
From the airport without a car
From Antalya Airport, Tram 1A (badged Havalimanı) starts from two stops at T1 and does not call at T2, then runs downtown with a change to Tram 2 at İsmetpaşa for the old town. Bus Route 600 serves both T1 and T2 on its way to the Otogar, while Route 800 links them with the Lara and Sarısu resort strips.
